[00:00:00] Hey friends. Welcome back to the Entrepreneur's Kitchen, where we talk about the art and science of building a business that honors your faith, fuels your purpose, and impacts the world. Today's episode is a little bit different. It's not just another conversation, it's really. A call for faith-driven entrepreneurs to rise.

If you've ever felt that tension between your faith and your ambition and wondered how to build influence online without doing things that don't feel aligned to who you are as a person and to your value system, then lean in because by the end of this episode, you'll know exactly how to build sustainable.

Influence through what I call the modern framework for thought leadership. And the best part, it's not about chasing followers or likes or hacks and tactics. It's about stewardship. And I think this is what faith-driven entrepreneurs have been waiting for. So stay [00:01:00] tuned

Thank you for listening today. It's a solo episode. And I'm taking you through my modern framework for thought leadership. For a long time I believed that business and ministry was separate worlds. I felt really uncomfortable talking about faith and talking about business in the same sentence, I felt like they're two separate worlds.

And I don't think I'm alone in this. Like a lot of people who've grown up in the church of Jesus Christ business was for making money, and ministry was for making impact.

But I have to tell you that, God began to show me something different.

I realized, in my walk in faith that God cares about every aspect of a believer's life. He cares about your work. He cares about your business. He cares about your [00:02:00] home life. He cares about the things that worry you. And if that's true. That his eyes on a sparrow and he asks us to bring all those things to him, then business is no different.

Begin to invite God into the way you do business,

this journey that I went on, started with, I wanna credit her she's a faith driven founder, and Stephanie, Stephanie Gas, and she had a YouTube video about having a business meeting with God. That episode, i'll link it down below that episode. If you do what she says, I'm telling you, it'll change your life because you begin to realize that.

The striving for business success striving in your career, it doesn't have to be that way. , Every post, every conversation, every product, every service, it's all about ministry.

It's all for the glory of God. So when I finally understood that everything changed for me, and I'm hoping that through this episode something will change for you [00:03:00] too, , the moment I realized that the business was. My offering of service to God, I had to change my approach. Content couldn't feel like a chore, my audience had to feel that they were being served.

I couldn't just be putting things out there . I had really to be trying to connect with people, to see people, for people to see me, and to see how I could help people. And that approach changed my content and I realized. Something important. We are not building platforms because we're trying to be famous, or we're trying to have lots of followers and get lots of praise.

We're building platforms that allow us to reach the people. That we need to serve and our people are out there. There are enough people out there for all of us to serve, which is another mindset shift, but that's for another episode. There are enough clients and there's enough money and there are enough opportunities out there that are waiting for us to have the courage to [00:04:00] step up and be bold enough , to seize that opportunity

I have to tell you. When you meet the right mentor, your life will be changed. And that's what I experienced for myself and the mentor that I found, I don't believe that he's a Christian, but I remembered that verse that says, the people of this world are wise in the ways of this world.

And believers also need to be wise in the ways of this world. Not to say that we do things that are not pleasing to God, but we need to understand how the world works because if we continue to try to live in a utopia and not enter into the world, then we can't influence the things of the world. We can't influence people who are in the world.

If we're creating our own utopia. We've got to also be wise in the ways of the world. I hope it makes sense. I hope it's not offensive to anyone, but I, I'm trusting that you get my heart in what I'm saying. It's not to say do business in a worldy way, but understand how business works [00:05:00] in the world, and then know the values that you have as a believer, as a person who follows Jesus Christ and apply that heart.

To an understanding of how the world works to accomplish things that give God the glory.

I'm just gonna dive into three things that I believe are part of the way modern thought leadership should work. The first thing is to have a kingdom mindset reframe. , Taking away that false belief that God isn't interested in my business.

Let's set the record straight. God is intimately interested in every part of my life, of your life, including your business, including your career, including your dreams and your aspirations. , If you think about it, where are those ideas coming from?

Who dropped them into your spirit. Begin to think about it that way, those desires have been dropped into your spirit and God will send the clients, and we have to be able to steward everything that God gives us in a way that gives him the glory. And when we see our businesses as ministry, I [00:06:00] think that pressure to seek out validation and to be striving.

I think it's lessened , the focus shifts completely and we can begin to know that we're walking and calling. And when you know that you're walking and calling, I don't know about you, but there's a confidence that comes with walking and calling. 'cause you know, that you are on mission.

This is what separates worldly influence from kingdom influence. The way thought leadership is done, people are chasing algorithms. But we don't have to chase algorithms.

We need to be people who chase Obedience and obedience is not easy. It is not easy. It is not easy to stand up in the marketplace. And. Claim your place as a personal faith here to serve people in the marketplace. A lot of people shy away from that, but in that obedience, I believe that that is where

there will be reward.

Your work is worship, and your success is about [00:07:00] stewardship.

The second mindset reframe is the idea of the calling of a thought leader. That idea that I'm not ready or I'm not good enough. A sense of imposter syndrome, but if you think about it. Throughout the scriptures, this sense of imposter syndrome was felt by a lot of people who did a lot of mighty things for God.

Don't feel that it's you not being good enough. All these things are laid out for us in scripture is so when we see them, we can identify them and we know what to do next. You know, the Bible's amazing and God is amazing , in laying out all these things for us. That feeling of, I'm not good enough, I don't have this and I don't have that, and I'm afraid that people , won't respond the right way if I do this.

I mean, as I'm talking, you can hear Moses. Lord, I don't have the voice, Lord. What if I go and say that to Pharaoh or the people of Israel? I go and tell them what you said and they don't believe me, Lord. , They had all those fears. That's part of being human,

which sets me free. It should set you free too. That thought [00:08:00] leadership isn't about being perfect. It's about being obedient. Taking that step out, even when your voice is shaky, even when your tech isn't ready, when your graphics don't look that great, if you have a message to share,

the person who needs that message will hear it, Sometimes we think we're just posting and not seeing these phenomenal results, but guess what? The person who needed the message you were sent to deliver, that person received the message. And it's amazing when you think about things from a spiritual level and from a kingdom level, it's absolutely amazing.

Not only that, that test of can you be obedient? Ooh. Well done. Good and faithful servant. Well done. Good and faithful servant. I get excited about all of this, but I remember taking my daughter to the running track, , I signed her up for athletics.

She doesn't feel that confident about running. She feels like, mommy, I'm always last. And I said, okay, let's go to the track. We can [00:09:00] practice. Anything can be practiced. We practice, we'll get better. So I take her out to the tracks and please. Parents do not judge me. None. Parents definitely do not judge me.

But anyway, I take her out to the tracks and we're having our practice and I'm telling her, run faster. Run with your head up, make your strides wider. I'm saying all the things that I heard the coaches saying to them and I'm feeling really good. 'cause I'm remembering all the things the coaches said and I'm thinking, we're having a good time until she burst into tears.

She bursts into tears. And at that point I was a little bit confused, like, why is she crying? , I thought she wanted to practice and we're here and things are going well. And then I asked her, why are you crying? And then she said, you keep telling me to run faster and I can't run faster. And so I said, .

What do you want me to say? , What would you have preferred? I say, and then she says, I wish you had said, run as fast as you can. Not run faster. [00:10:00] Run as fast as you can. Hmm. That hit me because as a parent who loves their daughter, , and. No parent is perfect. We're human.

But God is a perfect parent. So when he asks us to do something, I'm certain he's not saying Run faster. He's simply saying, run as fast as you can for now that excellence, because when you run as fast as you can, eventually you'll run faster. But for today, run as fast as you can. And if you think about that from a thought leadership perspective and from serving people, through your marketing,

I don't believe God wants us to run another person's race. He wants us to run our own race, and he wants us to run as fast as we can that's enough. And I'm saying this because it's so important in thought leadership. It's a very hard thing. Everyone says they want to be a thought leader, but no [00:11:00] one wants to. Say something online that can be read by everyone and

have people, talk about them in ways that are not pleasing. That's why this knowing that. You are doing something as an act of obedience. You're doing something to serve. You're doing it to the glory of God, and you're doing it as best as you can. And if that's the meaning of success, then you can keep going even when other people don't respond the way you thought they would. So. If you believe that you are called to be a thought leader, then it's more about obedience than it is about optics, and the more that you can be obedient, , the more you'll run faster.

, I hope what I'm saying is clear. I hope, , you get the heart of what I'm trying to say. Mindset reframe. Number three there's a three C framework for kingdom visibility. So visibility is not about being seen.

It's not. It's about being faithful and rests on these three pillars. [00:12:00] Clarity, consistency, and connection. So clarity is knowing what it is that you're called to say. Knowing why it is that you're called to say what you're saying. If you are clear about that.

Whew. That's the biggest hurdle. You've got to know what it is that you're here for and why it is that you're doing what you're doing. That clarity is the first. C number two is consistency. Showing up even when no one's watching. Yesterday I saw an amazing short video by Steve Harvey.

He was talking to his audience, and I'm sure there's faith people and his audience and non-faith people, they're there for the comedy. And he was talking to them about how to become a millionaire, how to become financially free. And he started by saying, I tell jokes, and even up to now, some people come to me and say, Steve, you're not funny.

Or Steve Harvey isn't funny. And he says, I don't care if they think I'm funny or I'm not funny. But guess what? When I realized that I had jokes to share, that would [00:13:00] make people laugh. And that was my way of serving people. I didn't stop. It didn't stop me from starting that people said, Steve, you're not funny.

How phenomenal is that? I don't know if you know Steve Harvey. I'm guessing if you're listening, you probably know who Steve Harvey is and he said I had one strategy, one simple strategy. He said, I told the same jokes. Some people laughed, some people didn't laugh. Some people thought I was amazing.

Some people thought I was horrible, but he said I kept showing up every day and telling those same jokes over and over and over and over again. Running as fast as you can. , People once paid $10 for his jokes and then $10,000 , and then a hundred thousand

and then half a million for his jokes. The same jokes when he was doing it for $10, some people said, Steve, stop. You're not funny. He didn't stop. He knew the way that he could serve was through telling jokes and making people laugh, and he continued doing that and being faithful with that [00:14:00] $10 joke.

Consistency. How amazing is that? So even if no one is watching, or even if you feel , I'm not really making any impact with this. Keep saying your message every day over and over and over again. That's faithfulness. That's stewardship. How amazing is that? , The third C is connection building real relationships.

It's not about followers, it's not about vanity metrics, it's about meeting people where they are, the people that you wanna serve, they wanna be seen, and they wanna know that you understand them. And. I know in this age, and I've been guilty of this , where we sit behind computers and we're doing everything digitally and we can mass email people and we can mass respond to people and we can post something and lots of people see it.

It's easy to. Lose sight of the fact that the reason that we are doing what we're doing is because we want to connect with the people [00:15:00] who need us and to connect. We need to build relationships, real relationships, talk to people, understand what it is they want. I have to say, and I'm not saying this in a negative way, I have to say that a lot of times

especially with Christian entrepreneurs when they're just starting out, all they want is a sale. The moment you have a conversation with them online, the next thing is they're selling you something. And then if you don't want what they're selling, that's it.

They're onto the next person trying to sell something to that next person and.

We're missing that connection because guess what? The person that you're talking to may or may not need , what you have to sell. But every person that you meet knows hundreds of people, .

So when you meet one person there's a lot of potential in that person's network , but you never get there. If the moment you try to sell something to someone and they don't need it, you're upset about that and you are onto the next person. And really, I don't believe that's the way that Kingdom entrepreneurs do business.

Yes, the world is transactional. But we are relational. [00:16:00] We need to build relationships with people. And honestly, some of the best business people, if you study how they do things, they're number one thing and

they're probably not Christian or religious in any way, but they understand that the world is about relationships. And I think as kingdom entrepreneurs, we lose that plot. And it's because I know we are in the world in all the influences of the world, but if we go back to building relationships, not only will our businesses thrive, but I believe that.

From a heart, a soul level, being in a relationship with other people , that's filling your cup. So when these three things align, clarity, you're confident in your message, consistency, you build up credibility and connection, you cultivate clients.

This is how we shift from striving for attention to stewarding influence.

Now, I talked about a lot of things and I hope, [00:17:00] you've been nodding all along, or at least thinking about the things that I've been saying, and if you think, Priscilla, I know that this is the way I want to build, , I just need someone to help me structure it, message it, and make it visible. That's exactly why I created my marketing messaging intensive.

It is a one-on-one experience designed to help you clarify your message, align your offer, and step confidently into your founder's voice.

If you're ready to Build your business the way that you truly believe that you've been called to build it, and not in a way that you are striving, but through stewardship. And I have to tell you when I say not striving and stewardship.

Striving is exhausting. Stewardship is about discipline. It's not easy. It's still gonna be hard, but I believe it's fulfilling.

I'll leave a link in the show notes to. my founder's voice quiz, which you can take for yourself. It takes about three minutes

I want you to walk away with your [00:18:00] authentic communication style and a strategy that's tailored to. How you show up best in the world and the people that you want to serve.

And I'll help you to create your own project, GPT, which you could train on your voice and your message, that you can stay consistent and visible without burning out.

I don't want you sitting on the sidelines anymore. I sat on the sidelines for a very long time, and I'm grateful that I had a nudge to be obedient, even when I didn't feel like it and even though , I'm not perfect and I wasn't doing it perfectly to understand at a later time that.

What I thought was my own ambition was me misdirecting the thing that God had put in my spirit. So I hope for you if you're still listening, that one, you'll understand that every part of you is kingdom business. It's all to the glory of God. Two, that even if you feel you are not ready, you look [00:19:00] around.

Everybody seems more credentialed, more popular, more able to do this, or able to stand out, but you understand that where you fall short, God knows, and he's waiting for you to ask for that assistance so that you can operate in divine favor. If ever there was an advantage that a person could desire, I think divine favor, is it , and also trusting the process.

Showing up, preparing, doing the best that you can, running as fast as you can day after day , and understanding that it's an act of obedience to do the best you can. I'm excited. I'm excited to see what God is doing in the marketplace using founders, Christian founders. To serve his people all over the world.

It's an exciting time . If the offer that I have is suitable for you, I'll put a link down in the description. If it's not still, please take [00:20:00] the words that I've shared, find other mentors, find other people who can come alongside with you as peers in this journey.

Of being an entrepreneur and using your talents and multiplying your talents for the kingdom. And I'm excited to, to really see what God is gonna do through this audience to tie this up with a neat bow. If you believe you're called to be a thought leader, I pray that you'd have the courage to carry the message that you have and carry it well and represent yourself well. . And I hope that this episode has been a blessing to you. If it has, please share it with other founders, with other Christian entrepreneurs.

And until next time, please keep showing up. Keep serving faithfully, and remember that business is our ministry, and I thank you for your attention and your time.
